BRONZE BUST OF GAGARIN IN THE CAPITAL PARK OF NICARAGUA

On October 28, 2021, in the capital of Nicaragua, Managua, a bronze bust of Yu. A. Gagarin was solemnly unveiled. The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Nicaragua A. N. Khokholikov, Russian cosmonaut F. N. Yurchikhin, as well as representatives of the Nicaraguan leadership.

The monument to the first cosmonaut of the Earth was erected in the capital's Peace Park during a visit to the country by a delegation from the Russian Southwestern State University.

The initiator of the opening of the bust in Managua was the International Charitable Public Foundation “Dialogue of Cultures - United World” together with the Russian Embassy in Nicaragua. To date, the Foundation has donated more than 50 monuments and busts to the Soviet cosmonaut to different countries of the world. The project is aimed at establishing friendly ties between countries and uniting people for the purpose of peaceful dialogue.
