THE BUST OF YURI GAGARIN INSTALLED IN THE CAPITAL OF BURUNDI

On April 12, 2022, on the International Day of the first human flight into space, a solemn opening ceremony of the bust of Yu. A. Gagarin took place in the capital of Burundi, Bujumbura. The bronze bust of the first cosmonaut of the Earth was donated to the people of Burundi by the International Charitable Public Foundation “Dialogue of Cultures - United World”.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Burundi V. A. Mikhailov, Assistant (Deputy) Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of Burundi S. Manirekana, Assistant (Deputy) Minister of Internal Affairs, Community Development and Public Security Burundi D. Nyandwi, Assistant (Deputy) Minister of Communications, Information Technology and Media Burundi T. Kitamoya, Secretary General of the Agency for the Regulation and Control of Insurance Companies of Burundi J. Butore, Director of the Department of Publications of the Burundian Press Ministry of Communications, Information Technology and media of Burundi N. Ntahondi, Chairman of the Association of Alumni of Russian Universities (ASEUS) J. Niyongabo, as well as Russian compatriots permanently residing in Burundi.

The project of the International Charitable Public Foundation “Dialogue of Cultures - United World” to install busts and monuments to the first cosmonaut Yu. A. Gagarin already covers more than 60 countries.
