On May 21, 2006 «Dialogue of Cultures - United World», the International Public Charity Fund, in cooperation with UNESCO organized «Dialogue of Cultures - Future of Our Country» round-table discussion. The event was timed to the World Day of Cultural Diversity for constructive dialogue and international development.

Round-Table Discussion - «Dialogue of Cultures - Future of Our Country»

On May 21, 2006 «Dialogue of Cultures - United World» Fund with the participation of representatives of UNESCO organized «Dialogue of Cultures - Future of Our Country» round-table discussion. The cultural event was dedicated to the celebration of the World Day of Cultural Diversity for dialogue and development.

The round-table discussion was attended by leading experts of UNESCO Office (Moscow), officials of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, representatives of the largest academic centers in Russia (Moscow State University, Institute of Philosophy, Russian Institute for Cultural Studies, Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, All-Russian Institute for Scientific and Technical Information of the Russian Academy of Sciences), foreign diplomats, ambassadors of foreign cultural missions and centers, artistic intellectuals, press and electronic media.

Participants of round-table discussion watched with great interest a presentation of ethnic nomad camps of Yugra - historical place of cultural dialogue of the indigenous peoples of the Russian North. Enthusiasts of «Dialogue of Cultures - United World» Fund collected many artifacts and objects of cultural heritage of the indigenous peoples and local ethnic groups in the local nomad camps. Through studying the cultural heritage of Yugra, adolescents and young people of ethnic groups proudly join the distinctive culture of their ancestors. Local territories of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District are being developed due to the emergence of local arts and crafts, development of ethnic tours and ecological tourism, festivals, scientific conferences and educational events.
