All-russian Folk festival 2012 in «ETNOMIR»

All-Russian Folk Festival on June 26-29, 2012 took place in «ETNOMIR» Cultural and Educational Center in Borovsk of Kaluga region.

The festival was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and «Dialogue of Cultures - United World» Foundation.

The organizers set a goal to not only support the development of talented children and adolescents, but also to acquaint the participants with the culture of different nations, to contribute to the promotion of tolerance and patriotism, to preserve and pass on cultural traditions.

The festival was attended by hundreds of talented pupils and students from all over Russia - Trans-Baikal, Primorye and Stavropol Territories, Republics of Bashkortostan, Dagestan, Ingushetiya, Tatarstan, Sakha-Yakutiya, North Ossetiya-Alaniya, Kabardino-Balkariya, Chuvashiya and Udmurtiya, Belgorod, Vologda, Arkhangelsk, Kaluga, Voronezh, Ivanovo, Kaliningrad, Kostroma, Leningrad, Tula, Nizhniy Novgorod, Kursk, Novgorod, Rostov, Lipetsk, Ryazan, Saratov, Tambov, Orenburg, Tomsk, Yaroslavl and Chelyabinsk regions.

The event included competitive audition of folk vocal and instrumental ensembles, soloists, narrators and researchers in the field of folklore studies, ethnography and local history. Participants were evaluated by an independent jury consisting of employees of «ETNOMIR» Cultural and Educational Center - S. Kolesnikov and Ye. Poklonskaya.

In addition, the festival program included a panel discussion on the preservation of traditional culture, folklore evenings, excursions around «ETNOMIR» Cultural and Educational Center, various thematic workshops, as well as an exhibition of crafts and fine arts, which presented authors’ works from different areas of crafts: paper plastics, painting, drawing, weaving, patterned knitting, macrame, embroidery, patchwork, working with wood and clay, manufacture of items of wicker, straw, reed, etc.

According to the results of the festival, winners and laureates were nominated candidates for the award established to support talented young people in the framework of the «Education» national project. All participants received certificates and souvenirs from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and «ETNOMIR» Cultural and Educational Center.
«ETNOMIR is a space, where our entire world is available. Here we can feel and see that the world is our single home» - children from the exemplary team «Doulist» from the Republic of Ingushetiya, who received Nika of the Festival and diploma for the 1st place, expressed their overall impression of the festival.
Awarding and a gala concert were held at the main venue on the last day of the event.
