Ethnic Holiday for the students of Boarding School No. 8

On October 22, 2006 the Fund held an ethnic holiday for 14 students of Boarding School No. 8. The project was a joint campaign of «Dialogue of Cultures - United World» International Public Charity Fund, «Sophia» Charity Fund, «Tramplin» Shopping Center and «Shokoladny Zayats» (Eng. «Chocolate Bunny») Coffee House.
The holiday of Russian and nomadic culture took place on October 22, 2006 on the square in front of «Tramplin» Shopping Center. The students were met by fabulous Bayun Cat and plush Chocolate Bunny. The children played Russian folk games, danced and took pictures. The event continued in «Shokoladny Zayats» (Eng. «Chocolate Bunny») Coffee House that organized a festive dinner. Then the children took part in the contest «Guess the melody» presented by Bayun Cat.
After dinner, the children visited a real Mongolian yurt from the Yurt Ethnic Club kindly provided by «ETNOMIR» Cultural and Educational Center. The children got acquainted with the culture and traditions of nomadic peoples. During music contests and quizzes, the children discovered folk musical instruments, heard harp and gusli playing. At the end of the festive event, «Tramplin» pleased the children with sweet gifts.
